Song Mirinae 송미리내
Song Milinae graduated from the Graduate School of Fine Arts (Painting Department) at Hongik University.
Since beginning her artistic practice in 2013, Song Milinae has focused on the process of connecting and stitching with thread, exploring the theme of "connectivity" between people. Starting in 2014, she began collecting discarded fabric from sewing workshops over a period of four years. These found objects, combined with the “red thread and fabric scraps” imprinted in her childhood memories, have become key motifs in her current work.
In everyday life, thread is common and subtle, yet as it connects with its surroundings, it transforms into various forms. Through materials such as commonly used thread, fabric scraps, and text drawings, her work embarks on a journey to discover meanings of connection and communication, healing and regeneration, and blessings and well-wishes.
